The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), Lagos Territorial Office, has intensified efforts to deepen National Identification Number (NIN) enrollment through strategic engagement with local government authorities in the state.
The Lagos Territorial Office, led by Barrister Frank Unuigboje, paid a working visit to the Chairmen of Ikeja and Onigbongbo Local Government Development Areas (LCDAs) to reinforce existing collaboration on the ongoing NIN enrollment project.
During the visit, Barrister Unuigboje conveyed the appreciation of the Director-General/Chief Executive Officer of NIMC, Engr. (Dr.) Abisoye Coker-Odusote, to Hon. Dauda Akeem Olamilekan of Ikeja LCDA and Hon. Adebanjo Moyosore of Onigbongbo LCDA for their support toward the identity registration initiative.
He also solicited sustained cooperation to ensure that all Nigerians and legal residents within their jurisdictions are enrolled and issued their NIN.
Unuigboje emphasized that broad-based enrollment remains critical to strengthening Nigeria’s identity management system, enhancing access to government services, and promoting inclusive national development.
In their separate remarks, the two LCDA Chairmen commended Engr. Coker-Odusote and the NIMC Lagos team for expanding the reach of NIN registration across communities and ensuring that no eligible resident is left behind.
They reaffirmed their commitment to supporting the Commission’s activities, noting that the initiative aligns with the achievements of the Federal Government and the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.
