Nigeria LNG Limited (NLNG) has reiterated its commitment to strengthening journalism and advancing national development at the 34th Diamond Awards for Media Excellence (DAME).
Representing the company, Anne-Marie Palmer-Ikuku, Manager, Corporate Communication & Public Affairs, described the media as an essential partner in deepening Nigeria’s democracy and amplifying the impact of The Nigeria Prizes.
She noted that “DAME has remained a shining symbol of integrity and a trusted platform that celebrates journalism—journalism that enlightens the public, strengthens democracy, and keeps our nation anchored to the truth.”
Palmer-Ikuku also highlighted NLNG’s newest initiative, The Nigeria Prize for Creative Arts, which officially opens for entries in February 2026, expanding the company’s support for Nigeria’s creative and literary ecosystem.
A major highlight of the night was the presentation of the 2025 DAME/NLNG Prize for Energy Reporting, alongside DAME’s special recognition of NLNG for its steadfast contribution to the awards.
Chikodi Okereocha of The Nation emerged winner of the Energy Reporting Prize for his incisive report examining the implementation hurdles surrounding the newly passed Electricity Act—particularly its cost implications and the delicate balance between policy promises and risks.
NLNG extended congratulations to all nominees, the energy reporting winner, and the wider journalism community whose work continues to shape Nigeria’s storytelling landscape and democratic journey.
