The National Universities Commission (NUC) has identified not less than 37 illegal universities operating in Nigeria.
According to the Acting Secretary of NUC, Chris Maiyaki, some arrests have been made while urging parents to check the commission’s website for illegal and legal varsities in Nigeria.
The Federal Government, recently, suspended degree certificates from Benin Republic and Togo after an undercover journalist with Daily Nigerian detailed how he acquired a degree from a university in Benin Republic in under two months and deployed for the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).
