The Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) and the Nigeria Revenue Service (NRS) have agreed to deepen collaboration aimed at enhancing revenue collection for the Federation.
The decision was reached on Monday, January 12, 2026, during a courtesy visit by the Chief Executive of NUPRC, Mrs Oritsemeyiwa Eyesan, to the Chairman of the Nigeria Revenue Service, Mr Zacc Adedeji, at the agency’s corporate headquarters in Abuja.
Mrs Eyesan’s visit formed part of her broader engagement with key stakeholders following her assumption of office as Commission Chief Executive last month.
The engagement comes against the backdrop of new tax laws that took effect on January 1, 2026, which are expected to require closer cooperation between the NUPRC and the NRS in the collection of oil and gas revenues.
At the meeting, both organisations reaffirmed their commitment to working together in the national interest to improve efficiency in revenue mobilisation and to meet the revenue targets set by the Federal Government.
