Ogun NUJ Mourns FRSC Spokesperson, Florence Okpe

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ogun State Council, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of the Public Education Officer of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Ogun Sector Command, Chief Route Commander (CRC) Florence N. Okpe.
In an official notification issued by the Sector Commander, Corps Commander Akinwumi O. Fasakin, the Command announced with heavy heart the passing of CRC Okpe, who reportedly died on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, in her hometown while on annual leave.
Until her demise, CRC Okpe served diligently as the Public Education Officer of the Ogun Sector Command, where she was widely admired for her professionalism, dedication, and strong commitment to public enlightenment and road safety advocacy.
The Ogun State Council of the NUJ described her death as a painful and irreparable loss, not only to the FRSC family but also to the media community in Ogun State, where she maintained a cordial and productive relationship with journalists covering the road safety beat.

“CRC Okpe was an exceptional officer and communicator who worked tirelessly to promote public safety and strengthen collaboration between the FRSC and the media,” the Council noted.
While commiserating with the FRSC Ogun Sector Commander, officers, and men of the Command, the NUJ extended its heartfelt condolences to Okpe’s family and loved ones, praying for the repose of her soul and for divine comfort to all who mourn her passing.
