The Chairman, Edo Refinery and Petrochemical Company Limited, Mr. Michael A. Osime; Chairman, Benin River Port Project, Engr. Greg Ogbeifun, and the Managing Director, Benin Enterprise Park Limited, Mr. Edward Osayande, are expected to lead the cast of panelists at the seventh edition of the Alaghodaro Summit, taking place in Benin City, the Edo State capital.
The summit is organised yearly, in partnership with the private sector, to mark the anniversary of Governor Godwin Obaseki in office and showcase the progress being recorded in transforming the state into an investment haven.
With the theme, “The Edo Story: Creating Shared Opportunities into the Future,” the summit is scheduled to take place in Benin City, the Edo State capital, between November 8 and 12, 2023.
The Economic Summit scheduled for Friday, November 10, 2023, will feature two plenary sessions, which will be moderated by Mrs. Uwa Osa-Oboh, Head of Corporate Development, Africa Capital Alliance, and Mrs. Vivien Shobo, Chief Executive Officer, FVS Advisory Partners.
The Chairman, Edo Refinery and Petrochemical Company Limited, Mr. Michael A. Osime; Group Executive, Projects, SaroAfrica International Limited, Mr. Tagbo Ozor; Group Executive Director, WACOT LTD, Alhaji Sadiq Kassim and the Vice President, Global Independent Connect Limited (GICL), Mr. Kazeem Oladepo, will in the first plenary session speak on the theme, “A Unique Investment Destination,” highlighting the peculiar investment opportunities that exist in the State.
In the second plenary session, with the theme, “Walking the Talk: From Opportunity to Reality,” the Director, MOWAA Pavillion, Ore Disu; Chairman, Benin River Port Project, Engr. Greg Ogbeifun; Founder and Chief Innovative Officer, Genius Hub Global Initiative, Mrs. Isimeme Whyte, and Managing Director, Benin Enterprise Park Limited, Mr. Edward I. Osayande, will share success stories on how the governor has walked the talk in Edo, delivering on the transformative projects that dot every nook and crannies of the State, which are positively impacting on the lives of millions of Edo people.
The Alaghodaro Summit has over the past six years grown to become one of Nigeria’s most strategic and high-impact discourses on investment, birthing a number of investment decisions, including the N69 billion Edo State Oil Palm Programme (ESOPP) Project, establishment of two modular refineries, which are currently refining crude in the State, ongoing development of the Benin Port Project, and the set-up of two ethanol plants in the State, among others.
The 2023 edition of the summit is packed with several activities to make it exciting and memorable, including the Edo Women Conference scheduled for Wednesday, November 8, 2023, which will be followed by the Benin City Tour and Cocktail on Thursday, November 9, 2023.
On Friday, November 10, 2023, there will be the main Alaghodaro Summit, Muslim Prayers, State Award and Dinner, while the Governor’s Golf Tournament, Food Tour and Youth Concert will take place on Saturday, November 11, 2023. The event will end on Sunday, November 12, 2023, with Thanksgiving Service.
