
As part of ongoing efforts to deepen collaboration with excise factories and key stakeholders, the Acting Customs Area Controller, Oyo/Osun Area Command, Wale Moses Adewole, on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, paid a courtesy visit to International Breweries Plc in Ilesa, Osun State.
During the visit, Adewole stressed the importance of strict compliance with existing excise laws and regulations, noting that adherence remains critical to revenue generation and national economic stability. He reiterated the Command’s commitment to facilitating legitimate trade while ensuring effective enforcement of government fiscal policies.
The Area Controller commended International Breweries Plc for its contributions to the economy, particularly in job creation and boosting the revenue profile of the Command. He urged the company’s management to sustain its compliance level and uphold transparency in its operations.
In his response, the plant manager, Emmanuel Onabanjo, expressed appreciation for the visit, describing it as timely and impactful. He reaffirmed the company’s commitment to maintaining a cordial relationship with the Nigeria Customs Service and pledged continued compliance with all regulatory requirements.
The visit provided an avenue for both parties to engage in constructive dialogue, address operational challenges, and explore opportunities for enhanced cooperation.
The Oyo/Osun Area Command reiterated its commitment to stakeholder engagement, trade facilitation, and enforcement of fiscal policies in line with the mandate of the Nigeria Customs Service.
