Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has approved the appointment of Professor Badejo Ayodeji Olawunmi as the new Vice-Chancellor of Lagos State University (LASU).
City Business News reports that the appointment was contained in a statement issued on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, by the Lagos State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotoso.
Professor Badejo, a Professor of Guidance and Counselling, was born on August 4, 1962.
She obtained her PhD in Guidance and Counselling and Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Guidance and Counselling from the University of Lagos (UNILAG).
She succeeds Professor Ibijoke Olatunji-Bello, whose five-year tenure has expired.
The appointment is expected to usher in a new administration at the university as LASU continues to strengthen its academic and institutional development.
