Citing personal reasons, an Independent Non-Executive Director (INED) of Seplat Energy Plc, Mr. Xavier Rolet, KBE, has stepped down from the Board of the company with effect from November 11, 2021.

The resignation of Mr Rolet is coming less than one week after a Federal High Court in Lagos granted  Zenith Bank Plc, interim Mareva injunction orders against Sheba Exploration and Production, a company associated with Seplat Energy, mandating the latter and other related parties not to deal with the assets or transfer funds to Sheba Exploration, a firm in which Seplat Energy holds a significant stake.

Seplat Energy, in a regulatory filing to the Nigerian Exchange (NGX) on Friday, November 12, 2021, quoted Chairman of Seplat Energy Plc, Dr. ABC Orjiako as saying “We would like to thank Mr. Rolet for his contributions and the wealth of experience he brought to the Board“.

“He showed great commitment and passion toward Seplat Energy’s journey and our transformational vision. We wish him well in his future endeavours”.
