SON Presents MANCAP Certificates To Seven Companies, Covers 23 Products

The Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON), Ondo State Office, has presented Mandatory Conformity Assessment Programme (MANCAP) certificates to seven companies covering 23 products, reaffirming its commitment to quality assurance, consumer protection and industrial competitiveness.
The Director-General/Chief Executive of SON, Dr. Ifeanyi Chukwunonso Okeke, represented by the Ondo State Coordinator, Dr. Akinbolawa Ibukun Olusola, disclosed that 23 products had been certified under the MANCAP scheme, while one additional product was registered under the Product Identification Scheme.
Olusola commended the beneficiary manufacturers for embracing standardisation and producing goods that meet prescribed safety, quality and performance requirements.
Representing the Director, South West Region, Mr. Yusuf Adamson Lawal, Chief Standards Officer (ChemTech), Ondo State Office, explained that MANCAP certification involves factory inspection, assessment of quality management systems and laboratory testing before certificates and MANCAP logos are issued to qualified manufacturers.
He said the scheme plays a critical role in curbing the production and circulation of substandard goods, protecting consumers and improving the competitiveness of locally manufactured products.
The ceremony featured the presentation of certificates to representatives of the seven beneficiary companies.
In her vote of thanks, the Head of Electrical Unit, Mrs. Wilson Inemesit, urged the recipients to view standardisation as a continuous process and sustain their commitment to quality improvement.
