President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has celebrated his wife, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, on her 66th birthday, describing her as his “truest friend and confidante” and praising her patience, courage, compassion and unwavering support throughout their years together.
In a heartfelt birthday message, the President said Senator Oluremi had stood by him through difficult seasons, offering counsel, prayers and support while sharing the burdens that came with his public life.
Tinubu, who addressed his wife as “Oluremi mi,” said her presence had provided comfort during uncertain times, adding that she often understood his needs before he expressed them.
“You have given these words true meaning in my life. You have stood by my side through every season,” he said.
The President also praised her honesty, recalling that she often waited until they were alone to offer him difficult but necessary counsel.
“I call you my truest friend and confidante because you speak the truth plainly, even on the days I would rather not hear it,” he stated.
Tinubu said the First Lady’s devotion had also left a lasting imprint on their family, noting that their children and grandchildren had grown under the shelter of her prayers and values of faith and kindness.
Beyond the family, the President highlighted Senator Oluremi’s humanitarian activities, describing her as a woman known for compassion, generosity and steadfast faith.
He recalled her work through the New Era Foundation during their years in Lagos and the Renewed Hope Initiative, saying her interventions had touched the lives of young people, widows, elderly citizens and women farmers across Nigeria.
According to him, people affected by tuberculosis and other diseases had also benefited from her advocacy and support.
Tinubu said Senator Oluremi’s compassion had not been limited by tribe, region or religion, adding that she had continued to pray for and support people, including some she had never met.
Reflecting on their years together, the President said their journey had involved difficult decisions, sacrifices, laughter and prayer.
“A long journey teaches a man the true value of a good partner. We have travelled a long road together,” he said.
Tinubu added that if he had the opportunity to begin his life again, he would still choose the path that led him to Senator Oluremi.
“If life returned me to the beginning, I would choose the same road that led me to you. Through every mile, my heart has always remained at home with you,” he said.
The President thanked his wife for the life they had built together and prayed that God would grant her many more years in good health and joy.
“Happy 66th birthday, my darling Oluremi. I pray that God Almighty will grant you many more years in good health and joy,” Tinubu said.
