Volkswagen on Tuesday launched the all-new Tiguan eHybrid as a part of its electric mobility offensive.
The Tiguan eHybrid is powered by a 1.4-litre TSI engine. In the Hybrid mode, the electric motor supports the engine and acts as an additional booster. The Tiguan eHybrid can also run on its electric system alone and cover a distance of around 50 km (WLTP rating).
The plug-in hybrid drive generates a system power of 245 PS and has been programmed so the SUV can start in EV mode. If consistently charged the Tiguan eHybrid could be used as a fully-electric vehicle throughout the year.
The Volkswagen Tiguan eHybrid houses its battery pack in the front of the rear axle and can be charged with domestic sockets too.
The SUV comes with 3 equipment packs- Life, Elegance and R-Line. Some of the standard features include a digital cockpit, Air Care Climatronic, multifunction steering with paddles for the 6-speed DCT, adaptive cruise control, front assist, park distance control and many more.
