WFTU President arrives in Nigeria, to interact with trade union leaders

The President of World Federation of Trade Unions (WFTU), Comrade Mzwandile Michael Makwayiba  arrived in Lagos, Nigeria  on Monday on a three day working visit.

On Tuesday, 24th January, Makwayiba is scheduled to meet with Nigerian affiliates and other leaders before proceeding to Abuja25th January 2017 for another round of discussions with the leadership of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) at the Labour House, Abuja.
According to his schedule of activities sent to www.citybusinessnews.com by TUC Assistant Secretary General (Media), Comrade Kenneth Mokwenye, he will  return to Lagos with his team on 25th January, adding that “the WFTU President shall also meet with the leadership of the Trade Union Congress (TUC), after which he will address a Press Conference on various labour issues in general and particularly as Nigeria is planning to host the forthcoming Pan African Congress of the WFTU in July 2017”.
The  World Federation of Trade Unions (WFTU) was established in Paris, France in 1945 and represents over eighty six million (86) workers in more than one hundred and twenty six (126) countries around the world, with its Corporate Secretariat at 40 Zan Moreas Street, Athens, Greece.
