Lekki Port has received the Director-General of the World Trade Organization (WTO), Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala.
According to Lekki Port, the visit “highlighted the scale, operational capacity and growing impact of Lekki Port as a key gateway for regional and international commerce.
“It also reaffirmed the port’s critical role in facilitating efficient trade, attracting investment and strengthening supply chains that connect Nigerian businesses to regional and global markets’.
The management of Lekki Port described the visit as a significant milestone, noting that it reflects increasing global recognition of the port’s contribution to Nigeria’s maritime sector and the country’s trade competitiveness.
The port reiterated its commitment to expanding its capabilities and providing world-class infrastructure that supports industrial growth, enhances seamless cargo movement and positions Nigeria as a leading maritime and trade hub in Africa.
Lekki Port further expressed optimism about the future, pledging to build on the momentum created by the WTO Director-General’s visit through stronger partnerships, improved operational efficiency and sustained investments that will unlock new opportunities for businesses and the nation’s economy.
