Zamfara Earmarks N50m To Upgrade NYSC Orientation Camp

Zamfara State Government has earmarked N50 million to upgrade facilities at the National Youths Service Corps (NYSC) Orientaion Camp in the state.
The State Governor, Bello Matawalle gave the indication on Thursday at the induction of the 2020 batch A corps members deployed to the state.
Matawalle, who was represented by the Commissioner for Youths Development, Skill Accusations and Sports, Alhaji Abdulkadir Buhari, said the fund would be utilized for the provision of 33 KVA power generating plant, Utility Vehicles  and construction of Staff offices as well as hostel accommodation for  the corps  members.
He said the state government would not relent in its effort to improve  the welfare of corps members posted to serve in the state.
The governor appealed to the  Director-General of the NYSC to reconsider the planned redeployment of corps members as it posed a serious threat to their contributions to the state.
Earlier, the State NYSC Coordinator, Mohammed Namalam,  said 1,572 corps members were develoyed for the one year mandatory service in the state.
He commended the state government for it’s  support to the corps members’ wellbeing, especially the plan reconstruction of the  orientation camp.
