Maritime’s role critical in economic recovery efforts, says NPA Chairman

The maritime sector has critical role to play in the ongoing efforts to reposition Nigeria’s economy, the Board Chairman of Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Mr Emmanuel Adesoye has said.
  The obvervations were made by Adesoye and members of the Board while inspecting facilities at Eastern Ports.
    Adesoye reaffirmed that NPA is strategically positioned to contribute towards the nation’s recovery from economic down turn by prioritizing the potentials of the exportation of Agricultural and Mineral Resources through the Nation’s Seaports.
 The Chairman reassured Stakeholders and investors that the NPA management is working towards the provision of Craft and Equipment,  adding that this will address the challenges confronting efficient service delivery, as well as safety of lives and cargo at the Nation’s Seaports.
  In his contribution, the General Manager Eastern Port, Abdulahi Goje appreciated the tour of facilities by the Board Members and called for assistance in addressing grey areas in respect of security challenges so that the locations would operate and perform optimally.
