The Chief Medical Director of the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH), Prof. Idia Ize-Iyamu, has commended the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, and his wife, Pastor Mrs. Folu Adeboye, for donating three complete sets of dialysis machines to the hospital.
Prof. Ize-Iyamu gave the commendation on Wednesday in Benin while speaking to Journalists during the delivery of the Nefro Renal Care Solution equipment.
She said the donation would significantly complement government’s investments in the healthcare sector, particularly in the management and treatment of patients suffering from renal diseases.
Presenting the equipment on behalf of His Love Foundation (HLF), the official global Christian Social Responsibility arm of the RCCG, Pastor Bode Olojede said the donation was made by Pastor Adeboye and his wife.
Olojede explained that HLF was committed to addressing critical social needs, including hunger, healthcare, education, rehabilitation, prison ministry and social enterprise.
He noted that Pastor Adeboye and his wife had consistently supported national intervention programmes, including the establishment of intensive care units and several Enoch and Folu Adeboye dialysis centres across teaching hospitals and general medical centres in Nigeria.
Also speaking, the Federal Commissioner representing Edo State on the Federal Character Commission (FCC) and former Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Engr. Victor Edoror, commended the Adeboyes for their significant contribution to improving access to renal care.
Edoror, who joined the CMD to receive the medical supplies, said government alone could not address the challenges confronting the healthcare sector.
He therefore urged other General Overseers and religious leaders across the country to emulate Pastor Adeboye’s philanthropic efforts and support vulnerable Nigerians.
The former Speaker expressed gratitude to Pastor Adeboye and his wife for remembering patients facing renal challenges and prayed for continued good health and long life for the couple.
The donated medical supplies include Nefro 4000 A HD Machines, Nefro Dialyzer 1.8M2, Nefro Universal Bloodline, Nefro Bicarbonate Cartridge, Nefro Acid Concentrate and Nefro Dialysis Fluid Filter.
