CIG Motors Nigeria has announced plans to sponsor 25 Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH) students to China for 18-month automotive training programme.
Speaking at the just concluded two-day programme aimed at equipping young Nigerians with career prospects in the automotive sector, CIG Motors explained that after the training, the students will return to Nigeria, ”to train others, further expanding the skills base in the automotive sector”.
City Business News reports that CIG Motors was represented at the event held in Abuja by General Manager, Manyo Pan.
Speaking at the event, Pan highlighted CIG Motors’ role as a key player in the CNG conversion industry and the company’s commitment to develop the next generation of experts.
CIG Motors also supported the training initiative by giving away an Electric Vehicle to one of the participants at the event.
The event was put together by the National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC) in partnership with the Office of the Special Assistant to President Bola Tinubu on Youth Initiatives, Monitoring and Delivery.
Addressing participants, Director General of NADDC, Mr. Joseph Osanipin, described Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) as a cleaner, cost-effective alternative to Premium Motor Spirit (PMS).
City Business News reports that the DG highlighted the economic and environmental benefits of CNG, particularly given Nigeria’s vast natural gas reserves.
