Dantsoho Applauds PMAWCA’s Unity, Reaffirms Vision For Regional Growth

President of the Port Management Association of West & Central Africa (PMAWCA) and Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Dr. Abubakar Dantsoho, has expressed profound gratitude to all participants for their contributions toward advancing trade, prosperity, and regional integration within Africa’s maritime sector.
Represented by the NPA’s General Manager, Corporate Affairs, and Spokesman, Mr. Ikechukwu Onyemekara, Dantsoho commended the delegates’ dedication, energy, and expertise in developing innovative ideas to maximize the maritime sector’s potential across the sub-region.
He reiterated his vision for African collaboration rooted in good faith and shared prosperity, noting that the goodwill, enthusiasm, and altruism displayed during the technical sessions reflected a strong collective resolve. According to him, the robust cross-fertilization of ideas at the meeting demonstrated that West and Central African ports are well-positioned to face the future with confidence.
Dantsoho emphasized that the region’s geographical interconnectedness and interdependence make cooperation a necessary foundation for sustainable growth amid evolving global economic dynamics.
He also extended special appreciation to the government and people of the Republic of Congo for their exceptional hospitality and support in hosting the meeting.
The NPA boss lauded PMAWCA Secretary-General, Mr. Koffi Jean Marie, the Port of Pointe-Noire team, and partners for their organizational excellence, while commending the Directors-General and Chief Executives of member ports for their unity of purpose and commitment to a common vision.
Reaffirming PMAWCA’s commitment to translating shared insights into actionable outcomes, Dantsoho noted that the decisions and communiqué from the forum would guide policy formulation and strengthen government implementation frameworks.
He urged members to sustain the momentum of partnership and cooperation, invoking the timeless words of Henry Ford: “Coming together is a beginning, keeping together is progress; working together is success.”
Dantsoho concluded by thanking all delegates for their participation and wished them safe journeys home, confident that their collaboration will continue to drive Africa’s maritime and economic advancement.
