The Vice President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo on Monday in Abuja inaugurated N510 Billion partnership for Expanded Water Suppy, Sanitation and Hygiene (PEWASH) Programme.
Under the arrangement, N290.5 Billion is to be set aside for water while for the period 2016 to 2017, Sanitation and hygiene in schools, primary health centres, motor parks and market centres are expected to gulp N133Billion for the period 2016 to 2030.
Osinbajo explained that PEWASH was an initiative designed to address the challenges confronting water supply and sanitation sub-sector.
According to the Vice-President, the PEWASH is expected to enhance goal six of the Sustainable Development Goals, which is to ensure availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all by the year 2030.
He challenged all Nigerians to support the initiatives aimed at making life convenient for all the nation and its citizens.
