The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), in partnership with Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU), Gujarat, India, has commenced a 10-day international training programme on stress management and emotional well-being for law enforcement officers.
City Business News reports that the capacity-building programme, which was also held at the FRSC Academy, Udi, Enugu State, is designed to strengthen the mental resilience, emotional well-being and professional effectiveness of personnel.
The Commandant of the Academy, Assistant Corps Marshal Winifred Uche Chukwurah, fsi, delivered the address of the Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed, mni, during the programme.
Chukwurah, while highlighting the importance of mental resilience, said emotional well-being was critical to improving the effectiveness and professionalism of law enforcement personnel.
The programme targets 1,000 personnel from the FRSC and sister law enforcement and paramilitary agencies.
According to the Corps, the initiative underscores its commitment to developing a resilient, emotionally balanced and professionally equipped workforce capable of responding effectively to the demands of law enforcement and public safety.
The FRSC said its collaboration with RRU, Gujarat, also demonstrates the importance of international partnerships in strengthening institutional capacity, facilitating knowledge exchange and improving public safety.
The Corps noted that the training reflects the growing recognition of the need to prioritise the psychological and emotional well-being of law enforcement personnel as an integral part of building an effective and resilient workforce.
