As part of the ongoing Ember Months Campaign, the Special Marshals Unit of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has intensified its annual nationwide road safety awareness drive aimed at reducing crashes and promoting responsible driving among motorists.
The National Coordinator of FRSC Special Marshals, SM Adaji Usman (FCILG), featured as a Special Guest on Africa Independent Television (AIT) on Thursday, October 30, 2025, at 8:30 a.m., where he shared key road safety insights and practical advice for drivers during the live broadcast.
According to a statement issued by Julie Chi-Nwaoha, National Public Enlightenment Officer of the Special Marshals, SM Usman stressed the importance of proper trip planning as a critical factor in preventing fatigue-related crashes and reckless driving.
“Timing your trip is crucial to ensuring your safety on the road,” he stated. “As we approach the Ember Months, we urge all road users to prioritize caution, plan their journeys ahead, and avoid driving when tired or fatigued. By doing so, we can significantly reduce road accidents and make our roads safer for everyone.”
The FRSC’s Ember Months Campaign is an annual initiative focused on promoting road discipline, responsible driving habits, and collective commitment to safety. The Corps will continue to engage motorists, pedestrians, transport unions, and other key stakeholders nationwide to foster a culture of safety and ensure hitch-free travel during the festive season.
