Germany on Thursday disrupted Nigeria’s dream of picking the Rio Olympic football gold with 2-0 defeat.
The Germans had shot into the lead through a ninth minute strike from Lukas Klostermann which they held on to until the 89th minute when Nils PETERSEN beat the Nigerian defence to score the second goal.
Germany will now face hosts Brazil in the gold medal game on Saturday in Rio, while Nigeria take on Honduras with the bronze medal at stake same day.
