Former Executive Secretary of Nigerian Shippers Council (NSC), Hassan Bello on Thursday paid a condolence visit to the family of late Otunba Kunle Folarin who passed on last week.
During the visit to Otuba’s Festac home in Lagos, Bello who is now a Legal Maritime Consultant consoled the wife, Mrs Folarin, over the passage of her husband,
Bello had last week reacted to the demise of late Otunba, describing his passage as a big loss to the nation because of his wealth of experience in the maritime industry.
Bello described Folarin as one who was “vast and analytical and incisive” in the nation’s maritime industry.
Bello said that as former Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Shippers Council, Folarin assisted the council in its regulatory role especially on “tariff setting,
Intra and inter port competition as well as stakeholders engagement”.
Bello added, “He was lively in his discussions. He was vast and analytical and incisive. Sadly, he lacked the financial independence to make PCC make impact”.
Folarin was the Chairman of the Nigerian Ports Consultative Council (NPCC) and Chairman of the National Seafarers Welfare Board (NSWB). Shipping Day
