Jaguar Land Rover has registered 34,176 vehicles in August 2019, down 6.7 per cent compared to the same month last year..
Jaguar recorded 9,702 units of retail sales in August 2019, down 17.8 per cent compared to the same month last year, while Land Rover retailed 24,474 vehicles, down 1.4 per cent compared to August 2018.
The automaker also reported that its China sales continued to recover as sales were 17.4 per cent up last month compared to August last year. In the company’s home market, in the Uk, sales were down by 21.6 per cent compared to August 2018, while Europe and North American market registered 1.4 per cent and 9 per cent YoY slump.
Jaguar Land Rover has revealed that demand for the all-new Range Rover Evoque has grown by 50.9 per cent, while the Range Rover Sport sales also increased by 6.4%. The Jaguar XJ too recorded an increase of 31.1 per cent.
Also, in this fiscal Jaguar Land Rover’s YtD (April-August) retail sales were 200,736, down 8.0 per cent compared to August 2018.
Commenting on the sales performance, Felix Brautigam, JLR Chief Commercial Officer, said, “While the global market remains challenging, we have seen a second month of consecutive growth in China.”
He also said, “We are confident that we have the right strategy in place to support long-term sustainable growth and are looking forward to revealing the new Land Rover Defender at the Frankfurt Motor Show – the rebirth of an icon.”
