In Continuation of the statewide Ember Months safety advocacy campaign, Lagos State Driver’s Institute (LASDRI), in conjunction with the Coalition of Driving Schools Association in Lagos State, has taken Ember Months safety advocacy to Lagos/Ibadan toll gate corridor aimed at sensitising the motoring public about safety on the roads.
Speaking during the sensitisation campaign, the General Manager of Lagos State Driver’s Institute (LASDRI), Mrs. Tiamiyu Afusat, said the event was designed to remind and share some safety tips to motorists on the need to be safety-conscious during the yuletide season.
Tiamiyu stressed, “Our collective goal for this campaign is to make road safety engaging and memorable by sharing festive illustrations and simple, offering practical advice, we hope to remind everyone to take extra care, whether they are behind the wheel or walking along the road”.
According to her, LASDRI has started ember months safety advocacy since September this year by providing daily safety tips reminders through radio jingle, audiovisual animations and motor park and garages, noting that the gesture was to reinforce the message for the residents to stay alert, drive responsibly and ensure their family, friends know how to stay safe on the roads.
LASDRI Boss said road union members have been adequately sensitised on the need to give maximum cooperation to all traffic management authorities for effective traffic management during the yuletide.
In his presentation, Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, Eagle Bravo, Afolabi Jamiu said the ember months’ safety advocacy is a soft reminder to the motoring public on the need to drive responsibly and stay alive.
In the same vein, Assistant Head Provost, Vehicle Inspection Service, Oladeji Sunday said the Institute’s annual event is seeking safety and voluntary compliance of all road users operating in the State.
