The Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) and the Nigerian Insurers Association (NIA) have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening collaboration on business advocacy, insurance awareness, and enterprise resilience to support sustainable economic growth in Nigeria.
The commitment was made on Monday, July 21, 2026, when the leadership of the LCCI, led by its President, Engr. Leye Kupoluyi, paid a courtesy visit to the Nigerian Insurers Association.
The LCCI delegation was received by the Chairman of the NIA, Mrs. Ebelechukwu Nwachukwu, the Director General of the Association, Mrs. Bola Odukale, and other members of the NIA leadership team.
During the meeting, both organisations discussed areas of mutual interest, including business advocacy, capacity building, insurance awareness, enterprise resilience, and enhanced support for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).
They also underscored the importance of deepening insurance penetration across the country, noting that wider insurance adoption is critical to helping businesses effectively manage risks, improve resilience, and remain competitive in an increasingly dynamic economic environment.
The meeting further highlighted the need for stronger collaboration between the organised private sector and the insurance industry to foster innovation, improve business confidence, and promote sustainable enterprise development.
At the end of the engagement, both organisations reaffirmed their shared commitment to advancing policies and initiatives that will strengthen business sustainability, encourage innovation, and drive inclusive economic growth for the benefit of the Nigerian economy.
