The Federal Government, on Friday, took another step toward its industrial transformation as Senator John Owan Enoh, the Minister of State for Industry, inaugurated the Industrial Revolution Work Group (IRWG) in Abuja.
The event marks the beginning of a new era for Nigeria’s industrial development, with the IRWG tasked with rejuvenating, innovating, and elevating the nation’s industrial landscape.
Already, Oluwemimo Joseph Osanipin, the Director General, National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC) has joined the IRWG as a key member.
The committee includes key industry leaders from key ministries, agencies, and the private sector, all united in shaping Nigeria’s industrial future.
Chaired by Senator Enoh, with the President of the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN) as Co-Chair, the IRWG aims to design and implement strategies that will revive dormant industries, empower emerging manufacturers, and integrate Nigeria into the global industrial economy.
The IRWG’s mission is closely aligned with the Presidential Council on Industrial Revitalization Roadmap, which was approved in October 2023 and is overseen by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR.
Together, they are building a sustainable path to industrial leadership by engaging stakeholders and developing evidence-based policies for long-term success.
The inauguration was attended by key industry leaders including Dr. Olusegun Aganga, former Minister of Industry, Trade, and Investment; Amb. Nura Abba Rimi, Permanent Secretary of FMITI; Mr. John Ogochukwu Uwajumogu, Special Adviser to the President on Industry, Trade, and Investment; Otunba Francis Meshioye, OFR, Chairman of MAN; Dr. Olasupo Olusi, MD of BOI, and many others.
This marks a defining moment in Nigeria’s industrial journey, as the country strives to become an industrial powerhouse.
