NADDC, Simba Group Unveil Mechatronics Training In Ekiti

As part of measures to advance cleaner energy solutions and upskill local technicians, the National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC), in collaboration with Simba Group Nigeria, has flagged off a specialized mechatronics training on the repair and maintenance of both Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) and Premium Motor Spirit (PMS)-powered tricycles and motorcycles in Ekiti State.
The training programme, which runs from Monday, July 7th to Friday, July 11th, 2025, is taking place at the NADDC Automotive Training Centre, KM 5, Ilawe Road, Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State, starting at 9:00 AM daily.
Speaking at the opening session, the Director-General of NADDC, Mr. Oluwemimo Joseph Osanipin, highlighted the Council’s commitment to promoting sustainable mobility solutions and empowering local technicians with modern skills that meet evolving industry standards. He expressed satisfaction with the positive impact of previous CNG conversion trainings across the country and encouraged participants to maximise the opportunity and cascade the knowledge gained to others within their communities.
“We are delighted to partner with Simba Group Nigeria in this capacity-building initiative. This training will not only enhance your expertise on Simba products but also equip you with skills applicable to a wider range of brands, strengthening the local automotive service ecosystem,” the Director-General stated.
Also at the event was the Regional Manager, Simba Group Nigeria, Mr. Sumit Panda who reaffirmed their dedication to supporting technical skill development and expanding access to clean and efficient transportation options in Nigeria. Others were the Program Director of the Presidential Compressed Natural Gas Initiative (PCNGI), Ekiti State Chapter of TORAN, the Trainees, and together they officially declared the event open.
The NADDC remains committed to driving innovation, skills development, and partnerships that contribute to Nigeria’s cleaner energy transition and inclusive economic growth.
