The Nigerian Air Force Officers’ Wives Association (NAFOWA), in furtherance of the Nigerian Air Force’s people-centred welfare strategy, has provided medical and humanitarian assistance to over 500 beneficiaries during a Medical and Humanitarian Outreach held on January 24, 2026, at the Nigerian Air Force Base, Bill Clinton Drive, Abuja.
City Business News reports that the outreach formed part of activities marking the 2026 Armed Forces Celebration and Remembrance Day, with special priority given to widows of fallen heroes and wives of serving Nigerian Air Force personnel.
During the programme, beneficiaries received free medical consultations, comprehensive health screenings, and other essential healthcare services. In addition, food and non-food items were distributed to support their general wellbeing and ease socio-economic challenges.
Speaking at the event, the NAFOWA National President, Mrs. Ngozi Aneke, described the outreach as a purposeful humanitarian intervention reflecting the Nigerian Air Force’s enduring commitment to honouring the sacrifices of its personnel by safeguarding the welfare of their families. She noted that NAFOWA remains fully aligned with the Service’s welfare philosophy through the delivery of targeted healthcare, social support, and empowerment initiatives designed to strengthen family stability, morale, and resilience within the Air Force community.
Mrs. Aneke emphasised that sustained attention to health and social welfare is critical to morale and operational effectiveness, stressing that the outreach was structured to offer not only tangible assistance but also reassurance, solidarity, and a strong sense of institutional care.
The initiative, she noted, is in line with the Chief of the Air Staff’s welfare-first leadership priority, which recognises personnel wellbeing as a strategic enabler of operational readiness and mission success.
She expressed appreciation to the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal S.K. Aneke; the Commander, 053 NAF Camp; Nigerian Air Force medical personnel; volunteers; partners; and other stakeholders for their support, while reaffirming NAFOWA’s commitment to remaining a dependable humanitarian partner in advancing the Nigerian Air Force’s welfare-driven and people-centric objectives.
