The Director-General, Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Capt. Chris Najomo, has announced the approval of NCAA Staff Conditions of Service (CoS), urging staff to reciprocate the gesture with renewed dedication to duty to ensure that Nigeria’s aviation sector remains safe, secure, economically viable and passenger-friendly.
Capt. Najomo made the announcement on Friday, January 2, 2026, during the annual NCAA New Year Prayer Session held at the Authority’s Lagos Regional Office.
He commended NCAA staff for their unwavering commitment and professionalism in the outgoing year, noting that their support was instrumental in advancing the Authority’s vision and mission, the five-point agenda of the Honourable Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Mr. Festus Keyamo, as well as President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda for the aviation sector.
The DG highlighted several critical challenges inherited by the current administration and promptly resolved, including the long-standing issue of staff stagnation at Grade Level 14, payment of housing and relocation allowance arrears, and the commissioning of the long-abandoned Port Harcourt and Kano Regional Offices.
Other notable achievements, according to Capt. Najomo, include the development of the Nigeria Civil Aviation Master Plan (CAMP) in collaboration with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO); the launch of the Consumer Protection Portal and Phase One of the DATR e-portal; as well as the commissioning of the Flight Data Centre in Abuja. He said these initiatives were designed to strengthen aviation safety, enhance regulatory compliance, and boost Nigeria’s credibility in the global aviation community.
While offering prayers for a prosperous and impactful 2026, the DGCA called on management and staff to sustain the spirit of unity, comradeship and shared purpose that defined the past year, stressing that such collective effort is vital for the Authority to achieve even greater milestones in the year ahead.
