NCAT Graduates 21 Aeronautical Information Management Officers

The Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (NCAT), Zaria, has graduated 21 participants of the Basic Aeronautical Information Management Officer’s Course No. 17 (BAIMO-17), following 34 weeks of intensive academic and practical training.
The graduation ceremony was held on Friday, August 14, 2026, at the College’s Ultra-Modern Auditorium Hall in Zaria.
Giving the course appraisal, the Course Coordinator, Mrs. Kalejaiye Olive, said the training commenced on November 17, 2025, and was designed to equip participants with the knowledge and skills required for effective Aeronautical Information Management.
She said the participants underwent rigorous classroom training as well as on-the-job training at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, and Mallam Aminu International Airport, Kano.
“After various rigorous training sessions, all the students passed their examinations and are ready to be declared graduates of NCAT,” she said.
Kalejaiye disclosed that all 21 participants were sponsored by the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA).
The Rector/Chief Executive of NCAT, Dr. Danjuma A. Ismaila, who was represented by the Head, Area Airways, Mrs. Bello Shebe, formally declared the participants graduates of the College.
Speaking on behalf of the sponsor, Mr. John Tayo commended the Managing Director of NAMA, Engr. Farouk Umar, for sponsoring the training of NAMA personnel, noting that the initiative would enhance their knowledge and skills and enable them to discharge their responsibilities more effectively.
Tayo urged the graduates to apply the knowledge acquired at NCAT in their respective stations, stressing the critical role of Aeronautical Information Management Officers in ensuring the safety of aircraft operations.
Also speaking, the General Manager of Gusau International Airport, Alhaji Kabir Yahaya Gusau, a former General Manager of Aeronautical Information Services (AIS) at NAMA Headquarters, Abuja, congratulated the graduates and urged them to take their responsibilities seriously and maintain professionalism in the discharge of their duties.
The ceremony was attended by the Registrar (Academic), Mr. Imoh Effiong; representative of the Dean, Flying School, Instructor Daniel Tanimola; ASM, NAMA Zaria, Mr. Ajiga Bello; GM, AIS, NAMA, Mr. Olalekan James; and other officials of NCAT and NAMA.
