Bello said maritime agencies are knowledge driven institutions and harped on the need for the industry to be driven by personnel in specialized transport and other related fields.
He also commended the effort made so far by the institute noting that it has trained large number of professionals in the transport sector of the economy.
He said: “The two institutions are knowledge driven. What we need to do is to get the required knowledge because it is the knowledge that drives the industry and so many mistakes have been made due to lack of knowledge”.
