The Okomu Oil Palm Company Plc has honoured 82 of its employees for their commitment, dedication, and loyalty during its 2025 Long Service Award Ceremony held at the company’s headquarters in Edo State.
The awardees, who had served the company for 15, 20, and 25 years respectively, received various household gift items including King-sized beds, Wardrobes, Dining sets, Upholstery chairs, Generators, and 32-inch flat-screen television sets.
They also received cash prizes in recognition of their years of service.
Speaking at the event, the Managing Director of the company, Dr. Graham Hefer, commended the recipients for their unwavering commitment and contribution to the growth of the company.
“The staff who have been rewarded today have given back part of their contributions to this company. They have shown loyalty and commitment over the years, and we are privileged to have people who have worked with us for as long as 25 years,” Dr. Hefer said. “The company is happy to celebrate them, and we encourage others to emulate their example.”
The Chairman of the Workers’ Union, Comrade Ewansiha Clifford, also lauded the management for appreciating the efforts of employees who have served diligently.
He described the recognition as a morale booster for the workforce.
“I want to thank the management for rewarding employees who have served the company meritoriously. To the awardees, I say congratulations. It is not an easy journey, but your patience has paid off,” he said.
One of the awardees, Mrs. Eroje Joyce, expressed gratitude to the company for recognising her 25 years of service and consequently, collecting King and Queen-size beds, a wardrobe and a set of living room chairs. She described her experience as one filled with growth and learning.
“I have looked forward to this day, and I am extremely grateful to the company and its management. Over the years, the company has trained and equipped us with skills that can help us run a company of our own. It has been 25 years of learning and growth,” she said.
The Long Service Award Ceremony is part of Okomu’s annual tradition of appreciating staff who have shown exceptional dedication and long-term commitment to the company’s vision and operations.
As the curtains fell on the ceremony, one thing was clear: beyond the beds, wardrobes, and television sets, the real reward was the sense of belonging and pride that comes from being part of a company that truly values its employees.
