A firm, Klick Konnect Network International Limited, has partnered Ondo State government to empower 15,000 cassava famers and 300 women across the state.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the firm, which began operation in 2006 as a consulting outfit, later diversified into construction and agro-processing, and is now into infrastructure development and commercial real estate investment.
The Chief Executive Officer/ Managing Director of the firm, Chief Alex Ajipe, explained in a statement issued on Saturday that the partnership was borne out of concern about the after-effect of the current lockdown on the livelihood and income of the people of the state.
NAN reports that the statement was made available to newsmen by Mr Dusin Oluwasuji, Head, Business Development of the firm.
Ajipe also said that the move was in addition to other corporate social responsibility initiatives and palliative measures being put in place by his company to support low income earners in the state.
“The management of Klick Konnect Networks International Limited and the investors at the Ondo-Linyi Industrial Hub, working in conjunction with the Ondo State government, have concluded arrangements to empower 300 women in trade and 15,000 farmers through cassava farming in the state.
“These initiatives will put women in their many hundreds to work in our rural areas and make food more affordable for the people of Ondo state, thus aiding the state’s economic recovery after the COVID-19 pandemic.

Ajipe, promised to continue empowering the citizenry, adding that 100 youths from the state were selected three months ago for skill acquisition programmes at Africa College of Agriculture, Vocational and Technical Studies (ACAVATS) Akure.
According to him, some of the youths have acquired skills and will soon be engaged in profitable ventures and become beneficial partners in the state.
