PDP faction unveils national convention committee

Ahmed Makarfi led faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has announced members of the party’s national convention committee despite a court ruling declaring the leadership illegal.

  In a statement issued by Secretary of the faction, Senator Ben Obi, its National Caretaker Committee had approved the nomination of Governor of Rivers Chief Nyesome Wike to serve as chairman of the convention.

  The convention scheduled to hold on August 17, 2016, has Darius Ishiaku (Deputy Chairman) and Senator Ben Obi as Secretary.

  Also serving on the committee are PDP State Governors, Serving Senators and Members of House of Representatives, among others.

 Meanwhile, the Committees will be inaugurated on Friday, August 5, 2016 at Yar’Adua
Center, Abuja by 10:00am.
