To successfully establish State Police, Senator in the 7th National Assembly, Senator Ita Enang, has advised President Bola Tinubu to abolish the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) and incorporate the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) with the Nigerian Police.
Speaking on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics programme on Sunday, Enang described the NSCDC as an unnecessary addition to the number of security agencies in the country.
He also advised the Attorney General of the Federation to prepare an executive bill on state police and forward it to the National Assembly for it to be treated promptly as a stand-alone executive bill.
He said: “Mr President should direct the Attorney General of the Federation to prepare an executive bill and forward to the National Assembly so that it will be treated as a stand-alone executive bill on state police.”
