Poised by a need to give back to the society, a non-governmental organisation, Think Beyond The Present, recently embarked on series of empowerment programmes for Nigerian Youths.
The NGO said the decision for the programme was informed by the need to equip youths with vocational skills to enable them be self -reliant.
According to the Founder, Think Beyond The Present, Ms Oluwatoyin Olasinde, the organisation is a motivational outfit with a vision to encourage people to reposition their mindset towards the possibilities of life rather than the impossibilities.
Skills earmarked for the youths to acquire during the programme, include, makeup, catering, hairdressing and photography, which she said, is meant to span between August and September in Lagos State.
Explaining further, Olasinde said her vision was to reduce unemployment in the country, help people see beyond their present situation and have a positive mindset.
She added that her goal was to raise vibrant youths who believe in their abilities.
“Think Beyond The Present is a nongovernmental organisation with over 3,000 followers on the social media platform established on May 11, 2016. Over the years, the group has been committed to helping and meeting people’s needs with the aim of building capacity and making visionary youths exploit opportunities around them, even with the limited resources available,” she said.
According to her, the organisation has a subsidiary in the United States and has recorded remarkable achievements that have attracted commendations across the world.
She said that the NGO had pooled resources to improve the standard of living of widows, the sick, under-privileged children and a number of unemployed youths through its activities.
