As part of ongoing efforts to reposition the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH) through strategic partnerships, the Chief Medical Director, Prof. Idia Nibokun Ize-Iyamu, has paid a courtesy visit to Okomu Oil Palm Company Plc to explore areas of mutually beneficial collaboration. A statement explained that the visit underscored UBTHβs commitment to engaging key corporate stakeholders as partners in advancing accessible, efficient, and high-quality healthcare services.
During the engagement, the CMD presented UBTH as a dependable healthcare ally capable of delivering timely, specialized, and patient-centred services to corporate organisations and their workforce.
She highlighted the hospitalβs Corporate Services and Partnership Unit (CSPU) as a structured platform for fast-track access, priority care, and coordinated medical services, while emphasizing that revenues generated through such partnerships would be transparently reinvested into strengthening specialised medical services across the hospital.
The CMD and her entourage were received by the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Okomu Oil Palm Company Plc, Mr. Graham Hefer, and members of the management team, who commended the CMDβs proactive leadership and clarity of vision.
The engagement culminated in a shared commitment to partnership, marking a significant step toward enhancing occupational and specialist healthcare delivery, strengthening publicβprivate collaboration, and promoting sustainable service efficiency at UBTH.
