The Corps Marshal, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Dr. Boboye Oyeyemi, has directed operatives of the corps deployed to cover the Anambra governorship election to ensure effective collaboration with other security agencies.
A statement issued by the Corps Public Education Officer, Mr Bisi Kazeem on Tuesday quoted Oyeyemi as saying there was need for the FRSC operatives to collaborate with Nigerian Police and other security agencies in the enforcement of restrictions on vehicular movement.
He noted that the directives were part of preparations towards ensuring a smooth conduct of the forthcoming Anambra governorship elections on Nov. 6.
He said that the corps operatives deployed to cover the election had equally been mandated to clear obstructions from the roads.
He said this included carrying out rescue operations in case of emergencies and maintain orderliness in polling booths.
According to him, to ensure that the corps plays effective role in the elections, the corps has also directed the deployment of adequate number of personnel.
“Avoid any temptation that could lead to abuse of the rights of electorate.
“I wish all the people of Anambra a peaceful, free and fair elections,”
