The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), through its Directorate of Cargo Development and Services (DCDS), has engaged the top 100 Licensed Customs Agents operating at the Pilgrims and Cargo Terminal (PCT), Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, as part of efforts to improve air cargo operations.
The stakeholder forum brought together FAAN, Licensed Customs Agents, freight forwarders and other key players across the cargo value chain to identify operational challenges and explore practical measures to enhance cargo processing, movement and service delivery.
Representing the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of FAAN, Mrs Olubunmi Kuku, the Director of Cargo Development and Services, Mr Lekan Thomas, reaffirmed the Authority’s commitment to sustained engagement with stakeholders across the air cargo sector.
Thomas said FAAN was committed to building a safer, more efficient, transparent and competitive air cargo ecosystem, stressing that the engagement was designed as part of a structured and continuous approach to resolving operational concerns.
He noted that the initiative would also strengthen compliance and improve the overall business environment for air cargo operations across Nigerian airports.
According to him, sustained collaboration among FAAN, customs agents, freight forwarders and other stakeholders remains critical to achieving seamless cargo movement and improved service delivery within the aviation sector.
