
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has recorded another milestone in its campaign to strengthen road safety governance across Nigeria with the investiture of the Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, as the Patron of the FRSC Special Marshals in the state.

Corps Public Education Officer explained that the colourful investiture ceremony, held at the Banquet Hall of the Government House in Lokoja, underscored the growing collaboration between the FRSC and the Kogi State Government to improve road safety and protect lives along one of Nigeria’s busiest transportation corridors.
As part of activities marking the event, Governor Ododo donated 10 electric patrol motorcycles to the FRSC to enhance traffic management, strengthen enforcement operations and improve emergency response across the state.
Receiving the motorcycles on behalf of the Corps, the Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed, described the donation as a strategic investment that would significantly improve the Corps’ operational effectiveness in Kogi State.
Speaking during the ceremony, Governor Ododo dedicated his investiture to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, acknowledging the President’s leadership, support for the FRSC and commitment to strengthening institutions responsible for protecting the lives of Nigerians.
The governor said the donation of the electric patrol motorcycles reflected his administration’s resolve to support initiatives that promote safer roads and more efficient emergency response across the state.
In his remarks, the Corps Marshal commended Governor Ododo for accepting the responsibility of serving as Patron of the FRSC Special Marshals in Kogi State and for demonstrating practical commitment to road safety through the donation of the motorcycles.
He noted that the gesture would enhance the Corps’ operational capacity and further deepen the partnership between the FRSC and the Kogi State Government in promoting safer roads and reducing traffic crashes.
