The Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Shehu Mohammed, on Thursday paid a courtesy visit to the Commissioner for Insurance, Mr. Olusegun Ayo Omosehin, at the headquarters of the National Insurance Commission (NAICOM) in Abuja.
During the visit, the Corps Marshal underscored the need for a data handshake between both agencies to promote efficiency in service delivery and contribute meaningfully to national development. He noted that the FRSC has made significant progress in digitising operational data, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and improved analytical capacity to enhance decision-making and strengthen public safety outcomes.
Also present at the meeting were Ajodi Nasir and Misari Ibiam from the National Health Insurance Agency (NHIA), who expressed support for inter-agency collaboration aimed at improving road crash management and emergency response systems.
In his remarks, Mr. Omosehin commended the Corps Marshal and the FRSC leadership for their ongoing reforms, particularly the upgrade of the National Driver’s Licence system and other digital innovations that have enhanced transparency and accountability.
He further reaffirmed NAICOM’s commitment to working closely with the FRSC, particularly in ensuring prompt care and compensation for road accident victims through the Road Accident Victims Compensation and Treatment Fund.
The visit, both agencies agreed, marks a new phase of strategic partnership focused on data-driven governance, road safety enhancement, and improved public welfare in Nigeria.
