The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Ogun has trained 29 intelligence operatives of the corps on diligent intelligence gathering, processing and sharing of information for effective national security.
Speaking at the workshop in Abeokuta on Friday, Mr Ahmed Umar, the Sector Commander, said that the essence of the workshop was to sharpen the proficiency of the intelligence operatives.
He explained that the training would address the challenges faced by the unit in reporting and correcting abnormalities noticed in line of operation across the state.
He added that they were also being trained on how to improve their collaboration with other security agencies.
“Intelligence is all about information; the information they have they share with other agencies; it may be related to traffic or not.
“The training has to do with reporting, receiving very good and critical information and if you don’t evaluate it and pass it on, it becomes irrelevant”, he said.
He commended sister security agencies in the state for continued collaboration towards ensuring the safety and protection of the lives of the residents both on the roads and at home.
“We collaborate with them in so many areas, we occasionally organise a joint special operation, where they give us support”, he said.
The sector commander charged the participants to learn from the training so as to continue to exhibit utmost professionalism and integrity in the discharge of their duties.
