
In a strong and far-reaching appeal to Nigerians, Honourable Justice Eberechi Suzzette Nyesom-Wike (JCA),has declared that ensuring safety on the nation’s roads is a shared responsibility that must be embraced by all citizens.Justice Nyesom-Wike made this call during her investiture as an Honourary Special Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), where she urged Nigerians to move beyond passive concern and actively participate in promoting road safety through the Special Marshals scheme.She stressed that reducing road crashes across Nigeria requires collective vigilance, discipline, and unwavering commitment from all road users.The ceremony, held under the jurisdiction of the FCT Sector Command in Abuja, was presided over by the Zonal Commanding Officer RS7HQ, ACM Comfort Asom, who represented the Corps Marshal. Delivering the Corps Marshal’s charge, Asom highlighted the vital role of Special Marshals as frontline advocates of road safety, urging the newly inducted marshal and other volunteers to uphold integrity, patriotism, and dedication to service.The event also featured the presence of the National Coordinator of Special Marshals, Engr. Dr. Usman Adaji, alongside distinguished Justices of the Court of Appeal, adding institutional significance to the occasion.In his remarks, the Sector Commander, Corps Commander Tijani Iliyasu, reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to strengthening public engagement and expanding road safety campaigns across the Federal Capital Territory. He noted that the enlistment of prominent figures like Justice Nyesom-Wike represents a strategic push toward influence-driven advocacy aimed at improving public compliance with traffic regulations.In her acceptance speech, Justice Nyesom-Wike warned against dangerous road behaviours, urging Nigerians to avoid actions that put lives at risk.
