
Lafarge Africa has further demonstrated its commitment to improving education and community development with the commissioning of the newly remodeled Christian Pelamourges Memorial Baptist Day Nursery and Primary School in Ewekoro, Ogun State.
The upgrade, executed as part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives—features newly built classrooms, a fully furnished computer laboratory, modern dining and toilet facilities, new furniture, a playground, and a football field. The transformation now provides more than 400 pupils with a safe, modern, and conducive learning environment.
Speaking at the commissioning, the GMD/CEO of Lafarge Africa, Lolu Alade-Akinyemi, expressed delight at the project’s impact, noting that quality education remains central to the company’s sustainability agenda.
The event drew key government and community stakeholders, including Ogun State’s Honourable Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Professor Abayomi Arigbabu; Honourable Commissioner for Community Development and Cooperatives, Ademola Balogun; Independent Non-Executive Directors of Lafarge Africa Plc—Mrs. Adenike Ogunlesi, Mrs. Olusola Oworu, and Mrs. Elenda Osima-Dokubo; and the Chairman of the Ogun State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Evangelist Joshua Ifede.
Also in attendance were members of the Lafarge Executive Team, community representatives, and other partners who applauded the initiative as a significant step toward strengthening basic education in the state.
With this project, Lafarge Africa reinforces its mission of building brighter futures for children and communities across Nigeria.
