Lagos APPEALS Supports 2,691 Farmers With Inputs, Equipment

In line with its agenda, the Agro-processing, Productivity Enhancement and Livelihood Improvement Support (APPEALS) project in Lagos State has supported a total of 2,691 farmers and Small Scale Entrepreneurs with inputs and equipment across poultry, rice, and aquaculture. 

 Lagos State Commissioner of Agriculture, Ms. Abisola Olusanya, who revealed this at the opening of the 7th Pre- Implementation Support Mission of the project also revealed that about 8,000 others have received training and technology demonstrations.  

Olusanya explained that the implementation of the APPEALS project is directly contributing to the state’s agenda of exploring and investing in the use of innovation and technology to create a competitive advantage. 

 She applauded APPEALS project’s implementation transparency, credibility, and commitment of project staff. 

The Project Operations Manager and Team Lead to Kogi and Lagos states, Dr. Salisu Garba said that the overall objective of the mission is to review project implementation progress across all project components to ensure that project is on track.

He reiterated that the mission would provide implementation support to the project teams in all areas of critical concern and agree with States on the required actions and activities that would further facilitate the achievement of the Project Development Objective.
