The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, has reaffirmed the Nigerian Air Force’s commitment to leveraging advanced technology and strategic partnerships to strengthen national security during a courtesy visit by the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Communications Satellite (NIGCOMSAT) Limited, Mrs Jane Nkechi Egerton-Idehen, to Headquarters Nigerian Air Force on Wednesday.
The CAS noted that the visit underscores the growing importance of space-enabled capabilities in contemporary military operations, commending NIGCOMSAT’s pioneering role in satellite communications and its sustained contributions to national development and security.
Air Marshal Aneke reiterated that the Nigerian Air Force remains guided by his Command Philosophy of enhancing and sustaining a highly motivated, professional, and mission-ready force capable of delivering decisive airpower effects in synergy with surface forces. He emphasised the need to expand collaboration in critical areas including secure satellite communications for operations and training, real-time situational awareness through satellite imagery and data, capacity-building in communications technologies, and the adoption of innovative solutions that strengthen mission readiness and inter-agency operational integration. He stressed that practical, forward-looking and results-driven partnerships are essential to improving operational effectiveness and precision across Nigeria’s air and space domains.

In her response, Mrs Jane Nkechi Egerton-Idehen expressed appreciation for the warm reception and reaffirmed NIGCOMSAT’s readiness to support the Nigerian Air Force with secure, reliable and innovative satellite-enabled solutions tailored to defence and national security requirements. She noted that strengthening collaboration with the NAF aligns with NIGCOMSAT’s mandate to provide resilient communication infrastructure for critical national institutions. Both leaders expressed optimism that sustained engagement and tangible outcomes from the visit would significantly enhance operational coordination, technological advancement and national security outcomes.
