The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) has confirmed its participation in the Investopia Global Lagos event scheduled to hold on Monday, February 2, 2026, at the Eko Convention Centre, Lagos.
City Business News reports that the landmark UAE–Nigeria co-hosted event brings together top government officials, global investors, and industry leaders to strengthen bilateral relations and drive investments across critical sectors, including infrastructure, logistics, energy transition, financial systems, and secure supply chains—key drivers of Africa’s sustainable economic growth.
As part of the programme, the Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority, Dr. Abubakar Dantsoho, will participate in a high-level panel discussion titled “Infrastructure and Logistics for Africa’s Next Phase of Trade.” He will be joined by Mohamed Almenhali, Regional CEO of Abu Dhabi Ports Group. The session is expected to focus on advancing port development, trade corridors, and digital infrastructure to position Nigeria as West Africa’s leading trade gateway, while leveraging UAE expertise to build resilient and future-ready maritime systems.
The Investopia Global Lagos event builds on the momentum generated by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s recent high-level visit to the United Arab Emirates in mid-January 2026, during which he participated in the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW 2026). During that visit, Nigeria and the UAE signed a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) aimed at deepening cooperation in renewable energy, infrastructure, logistics, and digital trade.
On the sidelines of the visit, President Tinubu announced that Nigeria would co-host Investopia in Lagos in February 2026, with the objective of attracting global investors and translating bilateral commitments into tangible economic opportunities.
The event will feature a distinguished lineup of speakers and thought leaders, including Dr. Jean Fares, CEO of Investopia; H.E. Dr. Jumoke Oduwole, Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Federal Republic of Nigeria; H.E. Mohamed H. Alsuwaidi, UAE Minister of Investment and Executive Chairman of Lunate; Ademola Adeyemi-Bero, CEO and Managing Director of FIRST E&P; Samaila Zubairu, President and CEO of Africa Finance Corporation; and Femi Otedola, Chairman of First HoldCo, among others from the energy, finance, and investment sectors.
NPA’s participation underscores its commitment to promoting Nigeria’s ports as critical enablers of trade, investment, and economic diversification, while strengthening international partnerships that support sustainable growth and regional competitiveness.
