Former Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps and President/Chairman of Council of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) Nigeria, Dr. Boboye Olayemi Oyeyemi, will chair the forthcoming Motoring World 30th Anniversary Celebration scheduled to hold on June 4, 2026, at the prestigious MUSON Centre, Onikan, Lagos.
The Director-General of the National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC), Oluwemimo Joseph Osanipin, will deliver the keynote address titled: “Motoring Media as a Catalyst for Automotive Industry Growth in Nigeria.”
The landmark event, commemorating three decades of Motoring World’s contributions to automotive journalism, policy advocacy and industry development in Nigeria, is expected to attract top government officials, policymakers, automobile manufacturers, transport operators, investors and major stakeholders within the nation’s automotive and mobility ecosystem.
According to the Publisher/Editor-in-Chief of Motoring World Magazine, Femi Owoeye, the choice of Dr. Oyeyemi as Chairman reflects his remarkable legacy in road safety administration, transport reforms and mobility development in Nigeria and the West African sub-region.
“Dr. Boboye Oyeyemi represents excellence, discipline and transformational leadership within Nigeria’s transport and mobility sector. His immense contributions to road safety administration and institutional reforms make him eminently qualified to chair this historic celebration,” Owoeye stated.
Speaking on the choice of Osanipin as keynote speaker, Owoeye noted that the NADDC Director-General has brought renewed energy and visibility to Nigeria’s automotive development drive.
“Since assuming office, Mr. Osanipin has continued to champion local vehicle manufacturing, automotive component development, CNG mobility initiatives, technical capacity building and strategic industry collaborations aimed at repositioning Nigeria’s automotive sector for sustainable growth,” he said.
The keynote address is expected to highlight the strategic role of specialized motoring media in shaping policy conversations, promoting local manufacturing, driving consumer awareness and supporting sustainable automotive industry growth in Nigeria.
The anniversary celebration will also feature special honours for distinguished personalities, government institutions and corporate organisations that have contributed significantly to the growth and transformation of Nigeria’s automotive industry over the past three decades.
Founded on June 12, 1996, as a syndicated radio motoring programme aired on OGBC 2-FM Abeokuta and Radio Rivers Port Harcourt before evolving into print and multi-platform publishing, Motoring World has remained one of Nigeria’s leading automotive publications committed to industry development, mobility advocacy and responsible automotive journalism.
The celebration will also feature strategic industry discussions, networking sessions and the unveiling of a special commemorative edition of Motoring World magazine dedicated to the history, milestones and future of Nigeria’s automotive industry.
